i-mate now in Asia!

Sunday, 24 June 2007

The global giants-i-mate, who specialize in Microsoft® Windows Mobile ® devices and software applications, plan to extend their network to their patrons in the Asian continent. In collaboration with some of the world’s largest networks and distributors, i-mate would now offer highly creative solutions and amazing mobile devices to their Asian clientele. Singapore is chosen as the main headquarters through which I-mate will launch their foray in major regions across Asia in the near future (read as the next few months). I-mate also secured leading market positions in some of the key areas which include Eastern and Western Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australasia. Though i-mate has always been within reach in many Asian regions, this is the official launch of their devices. They now have a base to operate from and launching their Ultimate range is the perfect strategy! The launch, expected in September, would showcase all the five Ultimate devices and the 6150 and 8150 would be the creamy layer. So for all Asians waiting to lay their hands on these “ultimate” devices, it’s within your reach!

Nice features being removed

Tuesday, 24 April 2007

Like Microsoft disappointed us by removing the New menu from WM5 devices which we loved and used the most in our prior devices, now its their turnto remove something in crossbow. Apart from Bluetooth DUN there's nothing else, Thank God! But on the othr hand, smartphones (renamed as Windows Mobile Standard) will not allow creation of new Word Documents! But the most funny thing here is, you can still edit existing documents! So people started keeping a copy of empty document and editing when necessary. Whatever, its just for smartphones or a touch-screen less Windows Mobile, so lets forget and move on..

Dell Pocket-pc

Thursday, 19 April 2007

dell pocket-pcDELL had been in the handheld market for four years and their device Axim X51 had a great publicity for being such a lovely pocket pc. After four years of sales, DELL recently announced that they have stopped shipping or manufacturing any more Axims. But they have promised to provide support to their devices as per warranty schedules.

This announcement from DELL might be shocking as it was to many. But Dell is not stopping here, "Quanta Computer is developing a PDA handset for Dell, and the new model is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of this year, according to industry sources. Quanta said it would not comment on any issue concerning individual clients. The sources claimed that the Dell PDA handset project, codenamed "Fly," will develop a model using the Windows Mobile 6 Professional platform and supporting HSDPA. It probably will feature a QWERTY keyboard, though feature details have yet to be determined"

Internet sharing with pocket-pc

Thursday, 19 April 2007

Back to the older devices like WM2003se (well, they ain't very old yet!), you could see an item called Modem Link in your Programs menu, which lets you use the interenet from a GPRS/data connection on your Notebook/PC via USB or Bluetooth - classically called as DUN - Dial Up Networking. Though it was a head-ache to set it up for the first time with HTC USB Modem drivers to be installed on your PC, lately AKU3 has been released and this has been completely replaced by a better program called Internet Sharing and removed DUN over Bluetooth!  Read on to find the pros and cons..
