Remember the alpha version of Fennec we published a while ago? Fennec is nothing but Firefox for PocketPC. Now the Mozilla team has taken a step further and pushed things to the next level. Not beta, but Alpha 2 version.

In this new version of Firefox for PocketPC, you shall find a better skin, improved panning performance, better add-on support, better performance and a lot of other bug fixes as well. Still some advanced websites with web 2.0 technology like Google Mail cannot be viewed in this version at the moment. Why not download and see it for yourself.

We though Opera was lagging behind in Windows Mobile area when they released their latest mobile browser first for Nokia phones but the Beta version of Opera Mobile 10 is available for Windows Phones too.

Not more than a week ago, Fennec (Firefox for PocketPC) got updated with a second Alpha version. Meanwhile Skyfire won’t wanna stay behind by announing their next update.

Back in April, at CITA, Opera announced their plans for 9.7 version of their successful PocketPC browser. Now here is a sneak peak with a link to download the alpha version.

If you ask what's the best web browser for desktop, sure over millions of users say FireFox. Will the same happen for Windows Mobile?

It's been over a year when Mozilla started working on a Windows Mobile version of their excellent browser Firefox, codenamed it as Minimo. Now minimo is changed to fennec and they've progressed a lot, hoping to join the war of the browsers on Pocket PC.

Opera mini got a hack recently so it can be launched directly from messaging and other applications. NetFront announced their Concept version available for public (over here). Opera is still fixing up their 8.65 Beta version. Now Makayama (never heard about them before) is entering the browser wars, highlighting Touch based page scroll and huge keyboard. Only commercial, no trial version is available at the moment and we haven't tested on our hands yet. But they have a working video published on their site. If you're not satisfied with NetFront (our best choice) and don't mind dishing out 15 bucks, go ahead. I can only think how much iPhone has bought to the Pocket PC world indirectly :)

iPhone, besides shaking the entire North American wireless industry, it's browser Safari has created a big war in the PocketPC and other handheld browsers. NetFront, Opera, Skyfire and all others are competing one on one and now Mozilla joins them. Do you think Mozilla will win? They overtook IE7 from the big guys. Overtaking opera and netfront might be an easy task for them. Lets see who wins! Currently there is no preview version of Firefox for Mobiles but just in case if you weren't using it on your PC,
