SD Sync 2.0!

ActiveSync will not synchronize Storage Card and You'll never know when your SD Card gets corrupted!

The software will run silently on your Desktop PC and Synchronizes whatever changes you make on your Storage Card!

How does it work?

No matter how many Storage Cards you use, each are recognized uniquely by the software and synchronized to the Desktop PC' Hard-disk whenever you connect your Pocket PC! Only the first time when you SetUp the Synchronization, the entire contents of your SD card is copied to a desired location of your choice on the Desktop PC' Hard-disk. On further connections, only the changes that you make are updated. So there will not be any performance issues.

  • You choose where you want to Synchronize
  • You can Synchronize more than 1 SD card and also to more than 1 PC!
  • Whenever you edit a file on the SD or add a new file, only that particular file will be updated on the PC on next connection
  • Everything is automated and so no need to manually sync the files.
  • Price includes Life-Time Support and Upgrades.
  • Your data is worth more than many time the price you pay for. So don't make any second thoughts!

Connecting Pocket PC to Desktop

The main advantage of having a Windows Mobile device is the great flexibility it offers integrating with your Desktop Windows. Most of all, your important data such as Contacts, Tasks, Appointments are Synchronized to the Outlook that you have on your Desktop PC. Yes, you need Microsoft Office on your desktop PC if you need the Contacts and everything to be synchronized. Yeah, its like a marketing strategy for Microsoft to sell their Office application too :)

Okay, so how do you connect your Pocket PC to Desktop now. You would have received a USB Data Cable and an Installation or StartUp disk with your Pocket PC when purchased. The CD will most probably contain a software called ActiveSync and which acts like a bridge between your Desktop PC and Pocket PC. Install this on your PC that runs Windows XP. If you're using Windows Vista, then instead of ActiveSync you need something called as Windows Mobile Device Center. This is a better replacement for ActiveSync on Vista. Once the application is installed on your PC, connect your Pocket PC to the Desktop through the USB cable that you got. Immediately your Desktop will recognize a new device has been connected and tries to Install drivers and other blah blah.. Finally it will prompt you to choose a name to identify your Windows Mobile Device.

Note: You need to have opened Office Oulook at-least once before this step so a new profile is set in Outlook for the Appointments and Contacts to be Synchronized.

So choose a name for your Pocket PC and then select what all stuffs you need to be Synchronized like the Contacts, Appointments, etc.. Done!

Now open My Computer on your Desktop PC. You will find your Pocket PC listed there. So you can access the Pocket PC' File System there! Copy Ringtones, Documents and all other important data that you have. In case if you've got any questions, don't hesitate to open a new thread in our Expert's Help section and we will be glad to assist you out on our own interest.

Now Microsoft has released the next Updated Beta version 4.5! If you would have read our article we posted earlier, you probably don’t want to download this version. But if you are using a Windows Mobile 5 edition on your Pocket PC, then you may need it. Anyway, just keep in mind that Beta softwares should always be used under your own risk!
Active Sync Problems

pocket pc_Active sync

Your Pocket PC has been made very friendly in synchronizing with your desktop pc. However, we find many having troubles in synchronizing, including us actually. A simple sollution we strongly recommend is to use the same version of Active Sync that was originally shipped in the cd with your pocket pc device. Proceed to upgrades only if you require any new feature in it, else downgrading is also not as easy as upgrade!

The way Active Sync work has been changed in 3.x and 4.x versions. Activesync 4.x is required if you have a Windows Mobile 5 (WM5) device. If you have devices running 2003se or earlier ppc os' you should NOT upgrade activesync to version 4.1!!! Version 4 drops a number of features available in 3.x versions (such as the ability to sync via wifi) and uses none of the new connectivity methods to connect non WM5 devices.

The following are some fixes for several common problems
