Well, if you’ve been intently watching the Smartphone wars between the giants, then you’d love this itsy-bitsy piece of juicy news.  Not really shocking or even remotely dramatic, but well, Apple’s bagged the top spot!

Apple brushed past RIM with a phenomenal 17.3 percent of the market share compared to the 15.2 percent of the latter. RIM’s not out of the race yet with three new Blackberry variants namely Bold, Storm and Pearl 8220 yet to hit the mobile store fronts. Windows Mobile flaunts a decent 13.6 percent and Nokia’s flying quite high too.  But, what’s behind the iPhone madness? Well, the features are guaranteed to pick up brownie points despite losing out on the platform and functionality. Well, we sure aren’t grumbling!
