HTC's defensive act at GITEX, 2007!

Monday, 10 September 2007

htc-shift Sometime back, we had posted an article that HTC might face threat from DualCor over the HTC shift which sports a similar dual pattern of Windows Mobile and Windows XP like a DualCor device. At GITEX, 2007, HTC claimed that there is no real Windows Mobile but a cut-down one. Using the trade show happening at Dubai as their forum, HTC spokesperson, Mr. Kevin Chen said that the Windows Mobile was used as a modem that was powered by a cut down (sans Windows Office Mobile and phone calling part) version of the Windows Mobile. This is nothing but an advanced Wireless data modem with latest BIOS and some other applications similar to Windows Mobile but not really Windows Mobile. The presence of Windows Mobile is strictly for performance as a modem. This may be a publicity gimmick by HTC to save them from being sued! For more details, click here
