Ready to spice up your device with your favourite programs launching from your today screen ??

Say hello to ilauncher3...with new wm5 support - [review by Corleno]

Description: This software is actually a Today plug-in for your pocket pc that helps you to create shortcuts to your most frequently used applications, display meters, etc..These shortcuts can be organized by several tabs and displayed in several modes on your today screen for easy access. Its not just the shortcuts, but comes with fully packed with functionality. Some highlights are here

Today Screen item

-Tabbed pages, completely customizable.

-The icons are freely movable in the given space which is either user specific or automatic
-Completely skinnable

-attractively colored

I find this feature rather useful because after using the wm2003 interface in my O2 mini to access the turn on bluetooth option I found it hard on a wm5 device for making the device recognizable

-SIP buttons which are by default Calendar and Contacts can be assigned to a program/setting

Task Manager

-Press and hold the x button in your pocket pc and 'voila'. Everything you need comes in one panel

-Access any program or setting assigned to the tabs (useful when you don’t want to go to the today screen or the program is not in the start menu)
-Close all running programs.Minimize/Close background tasks
-Softreset the device/display off

I love that option since it helps me from wear and tear to the device buttons
-Screen Capture
Which has more options than a normal stand alone screen capture utility
-Burst captures
-Timed captures
-If assigned to a hardware button ,the Task panel can act like a quick switch between two applications

Additional functions not to be forgotten

-True Vga device support
-Safe mode
-Captions display
-Customizable colors

Pros

(when compared with other competing similar softwares)
-Very light weight
-Screen Capture Utility
-SIP customization
-More control panel applet options than Pocket plus(Bluetooth)
-Constantly updated by the developers
-Good Customer Support
-Affordable Pricing

Cons

-The programs should be added one by one and no checkbox option like Pocket Plus
-May interfere with PDAs using wisbar adavance2

 Conclusion:

So if you were looking for a single software to manage your running tasks, launch items from Today screen itself, sceen capture, safe-mode utility, and much more in updates pipelined.. iLauncher is a must for your pocket pc!
