Heres some exclusive news! Verizon Wireless is planning to release five more Windows Mobile powered Smartphones this year! Weve got you a sneak peek into what's you can expect from these devices. The devices in the pipeline come with a touch screen and some of them have the conventional screens! The Windows Mobile phones are the Motorola MOTO Q9m and MOTO Q9c, the UTStarcom SMT5800 and XV6800 and the Samsung SCH-i760. To find out more, read on!
The other new device is the UTStarcom SMT 5800 which is also powered by Windows Mobile 6 Standard and has a strong resemblance to the HTC Vox (a.k.a HTC S710). The features include a numeric keyboard along with a sliding QWERTY keyboard on the side! The device flaunts a 2 megapixel camera along with 128 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM and is EV-DO Rev upgradable! This device is rumored to hit the mobile arena in October.
Verizons reply to HTCs Mogul is the UTStarcom XV6800 which comes with a EV-DO support and powered by Windows Mobile 6 Professional! There is a memory of 256 MB ROM and 64M B RAM and the device boasts of a Wi-Fi, microSD and a 2 megapixel camera. Rumors are afloat that this device is the successor of the XV6700 (HTC Apache)!
The news of the all new Samsung SCH-i760 has been circulating for months but heres the official confirmation! Slated to make a debut in September, this device has a numeric keyboard in the front along with a slide out QWERTY keyboard in the side! There is a touch sensitive display and needless to say that this device is also powered by Windows Mobile 6 Professional!
With this range of Smartphones, Verizon is trying very hard to emulate HTC by providing something for everyone! |
