Don’t get over excited to get the free turn-by-turn navigation with voice support as it is still available only for Android 2.0, but it's still nice to get some added features that you may actually use on your Windows Mobile Pocket PC.

The new version 3.3 of Google Maps for Windows Mobile gets your favorite places synced between your desktop and Pocket PC. Few months ago, Google Maps on your Desktop browser allows you to You’re your favorite places which can be navigated to easily on a single click. Now these favorite places can be synced to the mobile version as well.

You can find this feature very useful at times. For example, when you’re out on a vacation, you will obviously carry your Pocket PC with you. Upon visiting places, if it is of interest to you, you can simply open up Google maps on your Pocket PC and star the current location. Later when you get back home, these stars appear on the Desktop browser version of Google Maps which stay as a memory and also will allow you to share it with friends.

It would be nice if it allows you to take a snapshot tagged with the location and add to the Star, something like HTC Footprints does. Just like a picture says thousand words, a geo tagged picture could say more. Hope some Google engineers read our site for the suggestion to add for their future releases or at least HTC could do something to integrate Footprints with Google Maps.
