If you have been using Windows Mobile 6.5, sure you must have noticed the new lock screen introduced by Microsoft. Here is a free software to extend the possibilities of the lock screen on your Pocket PC.

Smart Lock is an excellent free software made by an xda member Biosxjj for Pocket PC phones running Windows Mobile 6.1 and it works best with 6.5 and over. It simply gives the features that Microsoft left out in creating the lock screen.

For example, the lock screen is not activated automatically on pressing power button or entering stand-by mode. This software can do it and do much more indeed. You can configure to lock automatically on device bootup or after soft-resets, when backlight dims, during phone calls and so on.

It can disconnect data connections while entering the lock screen but it is not advised and can be changed from the settings menu. It can also make the list of upcoming appointments show on the lock screen and plays a sound when you lock or unlock your Pocket PC. In our opinion, it is definitely a must have for all Windows Mobile 6.5 Pocket PCs.
