I am about to embark on a quest to upgrade to WM6. I have a Hermes and a Universal. I am sure many of you has already done this many times by now, so I am starting this thread to explain what is required to successfully Unlock and Flash your PPC. If anyone has any input please feel free to post what you know. I already have been to the Xda forum thousands of times, personally they hate to explain to new people on how to do things. And I want to personally make sure I can help as many uninformed in this area as I can. Granted I dont know much because I havent done it yet, but with your help we can be the one's to better explain things to the fairly new WMobile users out there. Like I said if you have anything please help this cause.  ;D

Your always welcome here Alkhal. First to begin with, WM6 is awesome..! And for many who move from WM2003se, its definitely worth the upgrade as WM2003se -> WM5 was not that pleasing.<br /><br />Its almost as easy as upgrading your ROM to a WM6 one. Ive tried WM6 on Universal, Hermes, Wizard, Prophet and now Artemis(ammmmazing device). Its always better to upgrade to WM6 in a device that is Super CID(unlocked) and running on a shipped ROM.<br /><br />My recommended checklist/steps:<br />1.Hard-reset your device<br />2.If your using any cooked ROM (other than the shipped originals), first do a ROM upgrade/downgrade to a original shipped one.<br />3.Make sure your device is Super CID<br />4.Now stuff in WM6 and your done!<br /><br />While this was the same for all device, Hermes have an extra step. Forcing SPL! That is like an upgrade to Bootloader, which enables you to use any cooked ROM further for updating. That is also a very simple process and its found in xda-dev!<br /><br />Hope this has helped.. If you get stuck in the middle(im sure you wont) your welcome again <br /><br />Regards,<br />Carty..

I aways recommend the Vanilla ROMs as the Junk they put in other ROMs may interest them but maybe worthless for you. So go for the Vanilla ones..!<br /><br />I expect your feedback on the ROMs you tried.<br /><br />Regards,<br />Carty..

Hello Andy,<br /><br />        Welcome to our forums. O2 Orbit, a.k.a HTC Artemis is an awesome device with GPS and all those stuff. And ofcourse there exists an un-official update to WM6 which works perfect without any bugs.<br /><br />Regards,<br />Carty..
