Hello Jason,

Since I couldn't get access to my PC I’ve mailed you the file from my PPC. I would appreciate if you could post it back as attachment here.

Credit: Buzz - The creator of the file.

Regards,
Carty..
Re: PPC-6700 Apache Unlocking Updated For Ext_rom 2.06.303 1 Year, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello Here are the files you need to unlock Apache Ext_rom. This is valid and updated for 20600_303_12700 update
You need two files one to unlock one to show rom on newer firmware2.06.x

Please read all of this post before doing anything. Also I did this post very quickly so I might Of left something out please post if you have any questions.

Run APA exe and you should get success message then immediately install unlock.ext.rom.wizard.cab then reboot go to file explorer you will see ext_rom2 you can now edit move delete, etc files. Please install unlock.ext.rom.wizard.cab to main memory has I have tried on sd and there are sometimes issues. The main purpose to use this is to remove junkware installed by Cell Company. This is the best way I found and there are other ways to get rid of junkware. Edit config.txt located in ext_rom. do this on desktop computer alot easier just because of screen size. First clear read only attrib right click properties on file untick read only then delete files in config.txt that I have bolded under config.txt before edit or just copy and paste "This is how your config.txt should look after editing file" then delete same files from ext_rom on PDA set atrib back to read only on config.txt and copy to PDA ext_rom hard reset then your done. Note Please Back up EXT_rom Before doing any of this so you can revert back to original. Also when you hard reset you will hide the ext_rom again. You can also add your own programs to ext_rom and have your files install on hard reset but I will save that for another post.

This is how config.txt looks before edit.
LOCK:Enabled
SHOW:Extended_ROMSprint_Logo.bmp
CAB: Extended_ROMPPST_FILE_SPCS_1_19_003_with_PRL20224.sa.CAB
EXEC:WindowsPPST.exe
CAB: Extended_ROMDirectShow.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMRTPlugin_CDMA.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMCert_SPCS.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMCert_SPCS.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMFetch.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMWTLAudiblePlayerPocketPC.arm.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMAudibleSample.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMGetmail.ppc2003.ARMV4Rel.sprint.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMsprint_software_store.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMGetGL.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMIOTA.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMCustomize_SPCS.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMButtonLock.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMEnable_RingTone.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMDisable_RemoveProgram.sa.CAB (stops Programs Installed From Showing In ADD/Remove Programs)
CAB: Extended_ROMPhoneSetting_HelpFile.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPowerICON.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMTimeSnyc.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMHiddenDurationPage.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMResString.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPP_IOTA_v1_10_Apache_206300.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPP_ErrCodeForSPCS_Apache_206300.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPT_RemoveHTCBatteryICON_Apache_206300.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPP_Version_Apac_206303.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPP_HTC_CM_Guardian_Apache_206300.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPP_LockUp_Apac_212705.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPT_Ril_Apac_206301.sa.CAB
CPY1:Extended_ROMAddContact
CPY2:WindowsAddContact
EXEC:Extended_ROMAddContacts.exe
LOCKisabled
RST: Reset

This is how your config.txt should look after editing file.

LOCK:Enabled
SHOW:Extended_ROMSprint_Logo.bmp
CAB: Extended_ROMDirectShow.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMRTPlugin_CDMA.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMCert_SPCS.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMCert_SPCS.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMIOTA.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMCustomize_SPCS.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMButtonLock.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMEnable_RingTone.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPhoneSetting_HelpFile.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPowerICON.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMTimeSnyc.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMHiddenDurationPage.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMResString.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPP_IOTA_v1_10_Apache_206300.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPP_ErrCodeForSPCS_Apache_206300.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPT_RemoveHTCBatteryICON_Apache_206300.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPP_Version_Apache_206300.sa.CAB
CAB: Extended_ROMPP_HTC_CM_Guardian_Apache_206300.sa.CAB
CPY1:Extended_ROMAddContact
CPY2:WindowsAddContact
EXEC:Extended_ROMAddContacts.exe
LOCKisabled
RST: Reset

Credit for Files: Buzz
Is it really necessary to include the AddContact information in the config.txt file? All I see that it does is to add the Customer Service number into your contacts.

Thanks for the info. I've been looking for an updated ROM version of this.
