for any one looking to upgrade their HTC P3452 to Windows Mobile 6.1, i found the following solution. First thanks to

I took backup of my files using Sprite Backup 6.1 and made a complete backup of my files.
My device information is

i'm writing this so that th experts can confirm if it'd work with other rom versions too.

I was looking for downloading the custom ROMs available on xda developers forum, but it needed a void in the warranty. So i used the method in the post above and the procedure was a breeze, though i was nervous but it worked!

Has any one tried it before?

Lately a lot of ROMs are getting scattered in various forums. I couldn't find the ROM you mentioned as the link was broken. Anyway, did the ROM you flashed have "Shipped" in it's file name? If yes, then it is an official ROM which wont void your warranty. I also presume you didn't apply HardSPL or something similar. Right?

Can you give us the exact link to the ROM? And usually the current version wont matter much as the upgrades will work on almost all of the versions. Either upgrade or downgrade, it works!

And I have seen a lot of people complaining about Sprite Backup, I would always recommend SPB Backup. Their backup files are more reliable than the rest!

and enter your serial number, if it says it is not for your mobile then key in this serial number

the official ROM's download will come up. I've started to use it, and it contains Windows 6.1 and TouchFlo as well. Its got office mobile 6.1 as well. Only thing so far i could find missing was bubble breaker, rest will follow as i discover. Am yet to try out the connectivity features if they still work or not. Do let me know, i think it's the official form as i didn't go for any HARD Spl Unlocking and stuffs. Plain double click, connect and install!

I have an Elfin that I just bought 2 months ago brand new from a local phone provider and of course have a 2 year contract. I asked if they had windows mobile 6.1 because I had to get it from the provider. of course being so small the provider didn't have it. I have searched the web endlessly since then and was shocked when I came to that download, I thought all my problems would be solved with this download, wrong. It says current version of your ROM Image version 1.17.557.1 Update to image 3.07.707.02. Great, I go to update it and my phone changes colors like it is supposed to. Then it stops and the phone restarts. I get an Error message of (296) upgrade only and it says The NBF file cannot be used for your phone, please get a newer NBF file. Can anyone help me out without me having to bake my phone? Any answers would be great! BTW I live in Michigan

hey. check out this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-284388.html i think i can help you. basically you seem to be having a corrupt .nbf file, so you have to downgrade it first to the original version, and also i think it is because you have a locked phone from the carrier. you ask your question on the forum.xda-developers.com, there it'd help you..
