HTC’s HD 2 Pocket PC with Windows Mobile 6.5 is now ready to be launched in Australia exclusively on Telstra networks. According to HTC’s marketing division, HD 2 is one of the most advanced and intuitive phones that they have ever produced to date.

It comes with a large 4.3” HD capacitive screen with multi touch capabilities (first Windows Mobile PocketPC to have it) and a 5 MP Camera. It also has the custom made user interface over hauls from HTC, the Sense UI for more interactive experience.

Telstra will have the rights to the phone until 2010 March 30^th as the phone is available in the store or online from today. Probably we will get confirmation on Windows Mobile 7 by then. Right now, the HTC HD2 PocketPc can be purchased from Telstra stores for a $0 Australian dollars on a contract plan of $80 AUD for 24 months.

HD 2 was launched long time before and widely available in most of the European and Asian countries, now to Australia but still has not arrived to any of the US carriers. It is however, soon expected to be on T-Mobile networks in the coming weeks. You want to wait for the HD2 or the real Windows Mobile 7? May be HTC HD2 will get an official Windows Mobile 7 upgrade when released after all.

very good phone. abcyesnc (68.196.157.xxx) 2010-02-06 18:42:34 I bought my HD2 yesterday and i'm quit new with WinMob. I had different Nokia's with symbian and my latest is the E71. I'm a business user, so i need a phone with multitasking. That's why i didn't choose the Iphone. I hope that this phone can do the same things (and maybe more) than my E71. Reply | Quote 1   0
