We just had some information on LG planning to make its first Windows Mobile 7 phone LG Appolo, do you think HTC will be quiet? They will surely be the first manufacturer of Windows Mobile 7 considering their past mile stones with PocketPC phones and as a premium OEM partner for Microsoft.

HTC, will be very soon hitting the market with their first Windows Mobie 7 PocketPc, codenamed Obsession. Being a premium partner, HTC is closely working with Microsoft in developing Windows Mobile 7.
Although previous rumors suggested Microsoft not allowing customizations to Windows Mobile 7, HTC is still working on a Sense UI compatible for WM 7. If plans go right, we can see this baby soon on the shelves, probably by October 2010. Rumors are also spreading about T-Mobile USA grabbing exclusive rights to sell this PocketPc in America.
The known available specs of the HTC Obsession are:

• 1 GHz , Qualcomm QSD 8250 processor.
• 3.7 inches Capacitive AMOLED screen with multi-touch.
• 5 MP AF Camera with flash capable of recording 720p HD video at 25 fps.
• 512 MB of both RAM & ROM.
• Internal Storage of 4 GB and expandable memory with microSD slots.
• 1230 mAh Battery with a talk time of 10 hrs and a Stand-by time of up to 240 hrs.
• GSM HSDPA, Bluetooth, WiFi and other top connectivity options.
• The device will measure about 112x56x11.7 mm.
• Expected to launch this October 2010.

We suggest you wait until a couple of months till Mobile World Congress so we will get a confirmed news from Microsoft and HTC themselves. Until then, hold of your plans on buying a new PocketPc.
