A very good video player from CoreCodec, also good for playing music. Yeah, we know the default Windows Media Player that came with your PocketPC could do it, but to find out why you need CorePlayer, Read on.. Why do you need CorePlayer? The Windows Media Player that comes built-in doesn't play most formats other than WMP, WMA, MP3 and some more. CorePlayer plays most of the advanced formats including Hi-Definition, DivX, AAC and other new ones. So is it just the format? More than the formats, the performance is an issue. CorePlayer is much more snappier than Windows Media Player. If you would like to see this live, open a video to play and seek to some distant place in the timeline. You shall notice around 3-5secs delay for seeking in Windows Media Player but its almost instantaneous in CorePlayer. Moreover, you shall notice that Windows Media Player finds it hard to play large video files. They even get stuck while playing. This is not the case in CorePlayer. User Interface: CorePlayer has a very pleasing User Interface probably inspired from Mac. Yeah, as you would have already heard that Apple makes the best designs, well at least kind of. The Quality: Windows Media Player can be compared to an old radio. Yeah, that's how the quality is. The Video quality isn't good either. CorePlayer has a 10 Band equalizer with saving preset functions and with a good processing technology, the audio is better or near to best. If you look at the Video quality, theres nothing more to beat the quality CorePlayer gives! Cons: The Buttons could have had tool-tips. The Preferences page could have been made more simpler or easy to understand. ScreenShots: Pricing: $ 25 USD for a video playing software might be a little expensive for some. Where to Buy? |
