First Looks and Inpressions
Glofiish X900 does feel a little bulky considering the thickness of 17mm and weighing 146 gms but it definitely has the power for this size in it, although its not so huge as the HTC Advantage. VGA resolution in qVGA form factor has impressed us since their older pocketpc devices like the X500.
Front of the glofiish X900 pocketpc looks like a shiny plastic while the backside has a rubbery feel so it wont slip of your hands that easily. After the iPhone having no hardware keys, more and more windows mobile manufacturers are trying to cut down the hardware keys. Like in the case of Glofiish X900, there are not too many hardware keys; more about this is covered in the appropriate side views.
Up Front
The front side of the glofiish x900 obviously has the touch screen while at the top end you shall find the 3G video camera which is barely seen as it blends with the overall color of the device. To both ends of the speakers (again at the top end), you have LED indicators.
Close to the bottom you shall find the Joystick at the center, a Call answer and Call end keys as well. The Joystick is not made to produce any kind of a click when you move it and this makes it a little hard to use.
Lack of soft keys is quite annoying for some especially when there is a D-Pad but don't forget the touch screen. You also don't have a dedicated Start, Ok/Close buttons.
Left Side
Nothing extra here with Glofiish X900. A volume up and down buttons, and one hard ware key assigned to cyberon voice commander which can be changed as per your wish. Volume buttons are perfectly placed in position where you're thumb reaches both during normal usage or while on call.
Right side
A power button at the top and a camera button near the bottom. In the middle you have a soft-reset hole and a plastic flip closed Micro SD slot. That completes the right side of the glofiish x900 pocket pc.
T op & Bottom
While you cant find anything at the top pertaining to usability, at the bottom you shall find the headset jack which is of 2.5mm and also the mini-USB input socket. Not to forget the tiny microphone hole to hear what you speak and there's nothing more to expect here.
At the right corner you've got the stylus while on the left, you have the flexible antenna. Yes, you read that right. This device has an antenna but since there is no DVB or TV function chips in this device, this antenna is solely for FM reception.
