What is Flight Mode?

While many are already familiar with this term, I still get to see people asking about Flight Mode. It's nothing but your windows mobile device being switched off or away from the GSM Network. GSM signals interfere with the radio waves pilots used to communicate with base stations and so they request you to switch off your mobiles while flying. Windows Mobile device is not just a mobile right, so you could just turn off the mobile part of it by tapping on the Signal icon on the top Start bar and selecting Flight Mode. This lets you use your Pocket PC plainly without a GSM network. Another question people ask me is, how to turn off the device completely. Well....

The device always goes in for Hibernation/Stand-by mode when you press the power button. The phone is still on. So if you would like to switch off your device completely like to save some battery or to ignore spamm callers, turn on the Flight Mode and then press the Power button.

Well, i have an HTC 6800 (TITA100) that is CDMA, and still has flight mode. Not
just for GSM

Hello,
when i turn on my blue tooth my i mate jam show the window to close
flight mode off,
please help me out i have imate jam and how to turn off the
flight mode option to access my bluetooth option.

Yes, flight mode will switch off all wireless connections including your
cellular. Tap on the Signal/Network icon on the top Start bar and then see if
you have an option to turn off flight mode or else you can turn it off from the
Comm Manager program.
