The Smartphone has been quite neglected with the Pocket PC taking all the honors. Now, Opticon plans to bring out two very rugged windows mobile powered smartphones.
Introducing the Opticon H19 sporting a super cool Wi-Fi, 512 MB ROM,
quad band, GPS, GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Bluetooth in a Windows Mobile 6.0
core. Following closely is the Opticon H16, which is designed to
impress with a slide out QWERTY keyboard in addition to the above
features (minus the GPS) in a Windows Mobile 5.0 shell.
A laser barcode
scanner and 2D CMOS imager find a place in both the devices. If were
to believe our sources, then wed have a September release of this one.
Moreover, these Smartphones are perfectly in sync with AT&Ts GSM
and GPRS networks. Well, knowing Opticon, we can safely assume that
the price tags would be sensible too!
