World’s third largest branded PC vendors have entered into what they call a definitive agreement to lay their hands on the E-TEN Information Systems Co which is a renowned manufacturer-designer of handheld devices. The deal is worth around $9bn. Acer’s sole aim has been to develop cutting edge mobile solutions worldwide. So, what’s the bottom-line? This acquisition would help Acer to play a major role in bringing a sea change with development of the dynamic, fast-evolving market of handheld devices apart from the “ultra devices” lined up for the future. With E-TEN in its bandwagon of VGA pocketpc devices on qVGA form factor, Acer is sure to fulfill its wish of reaching out to a wider audience and providing them with extra loaded mobile solutions.Well, Hope so..
