Last week we reported about the new Windows Mobile Pocket PC phone LG eXpo with Pico projector and Finger print sensors but missed some details that makes this Pocket PC truly amazing and a leap ahead.

When we first saw the Fingerprint sensor in place of the traditional D-Pad navigation system, we’ve mistaken to miss the essential navigation functions but turns out that the finger print sensor actually doubles up as a D-Pad navigation system too.

Only in the custom lock screen application made by LG to secure the phone will allow scanning of finger prints. Once authenticated, the finger print scanner is further used for navigation by detecting finger movements over it and it is very well demonstrated in the video below.

We also missed the fact that this LG eXpo Pocket PC has a slide out hard-ware QWERTY keyboard for enhancing your typing experience on Windows Mobile and yet keeps the device as slim as possible. Also, the Pico projector is detachable so you don’t have to carry the bulk everywhere you go.

In fact, the projector seems to output videos much better than you could expect on a miniature handheld. PcMag has got their hands on LG eXpo Pocket PC to test out the video playback through the pico projector and it has scored well. See in the video below.

Good to see LG using Windows Mobile as the operating system for a phone that boasts to be the First in World to have a projector built-in. And just like HTC, LG has also customized Windows Mobile 6.5 OS as much as possible to make user experience much easier, although it does not appeal as much as HTC’ Sense or Touch FLO.
