Tomorrow the mobile world congress is said to take place and there will be no Windows Mobile.

Don't panic, just the name is getting changed. Look at the Microsoft stand in the image here. Microsoft plans to call it Windows Phone hence forth and so what will happen to Windows Mobile 6.5 or Windows Mobile 7 and all old versions?

We saw many innovations inspired by the iPhone, many user interface clones for Windows Mobile and it's now funny to see that the name itself is cloned :) iPhone - Windows Phone.

We have been hearing about the lack of multi-tasking support since the early unveiling of Windows Phone 7 Series and now they further disappoint us with cutting down on more power user stuffs.

We saw the first official handset running Windows Phone 7 series from LG couple of weeks ago. We thought it was too early to see a Windows Phone and now Samsung, a strong contestant of the show, has spot out a new Windows Phone 7 Series device at the MIX 10. Where’s HTC?

We were eagerly waiting for the MIX 2010 where the technical details and more other details of Windows Phone 7 Series was supposed to be revealed and the first report seems to be rather disappointing for us. Just like the older iPhone, Copy Paste is no more for us.

For all these long periods we were using and have been tired of the all beta versions of Opera 10 browser on our PocketPC phones. Now the end of the beta versions has arrived and the official Opera 10 for Windows Mobile has been released.

About a year ago, Google’s first official Youtube Player for the Windows Mobile and Nokia S60 Series was released and since then, they had been dormant for all this while as HTC made some better players. Now Google has decided to give some life back to their own project.

Since the launch, Windows Phone 7 has become the most discussed mobile operating system maybe next to what iPhone did at the initial hype phase. However, it’s gonna take another 6 or more months to see in the markets. Can’t wait that long, at least you can enjoy a WM7 theme right now on your PocketPC.

All this while we wanted an iPhone theme on our Pocket PC. For the first time, since the launch of Windows Phone 7, it has turned the other way round.  It is a bit surprise to see a Windows Phone 7 Series theme on an iPhone and it clearly suggests that the future for Windows Mobile is right or the guys at MS are heading in the right direction.

All Windows Mobile users should have noticed the small battery icon on the top right corner, next to the clock. But, have you ever felt it being of no big use as it doesn’t show you exact charge percentage or doesn’t properly let you know if the charger is connected?

Initially, when we first reported about Toshiba' new upcoming PocketPC phone, the successor to TG01, it was announced with Windows Mobile 6.5 and we speculated it to be upgradable to the new Windows Phone Series but no, they follow HTC.

We are now well aware about the Windows Phone 7 Series, after its unveiling at the Mobile World Congress last month and PocketPC phones powered by Windows Phone 7 Series are expected to be out in the market by the mid of 2010. Read more to find out what will happen at Mix 2010.
