Beginning of this year, we saw some nice PocketPC from Pharos, the Traveler 137 model, which is an upgrade to their previous device Pharos 127. Now it is available for sale in the US.

This PocketPC boasts of a 3.5” touch screen display with WVGA resolution of 800x480px and probably comes with the latest Spb Mobile Shell 3.0 bundled. Under the hood, Traveler 137 is powered by a Qualcomm processor at 528 Mhz speed.

Another great feature is the support for 3.5G networks so you can enjoy high speed internet as well as video calling with the front additional camera.

And as the name suggest (Traveler), this PocketPC comes loaded with a proprietary navigation software from Pharos. So if you don’t mind dishing out 600 USD, this PocketPC can be yours then.

The software has a slew of new and exciting features such as great routing, awesome cockpit view even on the go, effective voice prompts, informative and exhaustive POI lists and at the same time it is really quick! But there is a slight catch! The routing to contacts feature is tiresome to use and the menu design is not consistent! In spite of the shortcomings, overall this software is ok!
