PocketPC with TV

pocketpc tv Eten wanted to make the world's first PocketPC with TV on their device V900 but before they could release, Vodafone is planning ahead on a PocketPC device with TV (DVB-T) a.k.a Freeview - Full Terestrial TV reception. Release in Germany for 100 Euros on Supscription contract. Read more for what the world's first PocketPC with TV is all about.

European government has decided that DVB-H will be the standard for TV on mobile devices but many companies including Vodafone don't have a license yet to use this advanced TV standard. Instead, they're taking up G-Smart' previously hyped windows mobile pocketpc with TV supporting DVB-T (a digital terestrial TV reception replacing analog TV), just to stay ahead in the market for a while at least. One more thing is that, unlike DVB-H, DVB-T is a free service and no monthly subscription is required.

The pocketpc Vodafone will announce is the t600 with no 3G or GPS functionalities. Other standard pocketpc features such as WiFi and quad-band are available though. Whats interesting is the VGA screen good enough for watching TV but no details on the processor speed is known yet.
