Some of the recent modifications done by the Microsoft to make the Start key more user friendly, has removed one of the most wanted and useful feature – Recent program lists. Here’s an interesting workaround.

The free “Home Screen Customizer”, which allows you to rearrange, remove and edit panels if you are using a default “Titanium” Windows Mobile 6.5 Today screen interface will also help you in accessing a number of applications from your home screen.

The most exciting fact is that, when you have the Apps Panel selected there, the right soft key menu at the bottom turns to “Recent” link, which on pressing will show 4 recently used applications and by swiping horizontally you get to see 8 more of the recently accessed programs on your PocketPc. Pretty neat we’d say.

You can download Home Screen Customizer from the Windows Mobile marketplace as the developer has decided not to distribute the cab files elsewhere. And the application has a lot of other features too that will make the Titanium today plug-in pretty useful on Windows Mobile PocketPC phones.
