Last week the most awaited Toshiba TG01 PocketPC was out in the stores. But reports confirm that they are all packed with a virus inside, which apparently got fixed by Tosh now.

Actually it may not be Toshiba’ fault. The PocketPC TG01 was delivered with a memory card in the package by O2 Germany and the memory cards were all infected by a virus. After tosh got a notification on this issue, they immediately stopped sales and made arrangements for replacement units. Now the sales have resumed with new fresh and clean memory cards in package.

For all this while there were no virus created for Windows Mobile OS and we hope the situation stays the same as the virus infected the memory cards supplied along with the Toshiba TG01 and not in the TG01 unit itself.

Just in case if you have purchased a Toshiba TG01 from O2 Germany during the time of July, please consult the store back for clarification and replacement units.

Toshiba IS02, powered by Windows Mobile 6.5.3 OS is all set to invade Europe within a month and is touted to be the World’s thinnest mobile phone. 

Initially, when we first reported about Toshiba' new upcoming PocketPC phone, the successor to TG01, it was announced with Windows Mobile 6.5 and we speculated it to be upgradable to the new Windows Phone Series but no, they follow HTC.

Last week, we mentioned about PocketPC phones being the safest when compared to iPhone which are capable of being infected with dreadful viruses. Now a first Pocket PC virus or Trojan has been discovered by Kaspersky which is known to raise your cell phone bills.

Till date, there had been no virus or threat designed to target the Windows Mobile platform but iPhone already has many worms within 2 years of its launch and the latest worm steals banking information too. Does that mean Windows Mobile is a safer platform? 

On October 6h, Acer, the same company who acquired Eten about a year ago, will be officially launching the F1 PocketPC and it will be the most powerful windows mobile PocketPC for the price they offer.

We thought Toshiba TG01 will be the only competitor for HTC Touch PRO 2. But it looks like Omnia 2 is on the line too with a bright AMOLED touch screen.

While there is no news on Clamshell, Toshiba pushed their much awaited TG01 on sale through most carriers. Could be a tough competitor for the iPhone and the Touch PRO 2 as well.
