This time at Mobile World Congress, it was a big even for Windows Mobile PocketPC users as Microsoft unveiled their new, most awaited Windows Mobile 7 and apart from that, we also noticed some new PocketPc phones still packing the older 6.5 versions.

From Toshiba, it is the TG02 which is like a second generation to their older TG01 PocketPC which failed to win in the market dominated by HTC. Although it did score a title – “The First Windows Mobile phone with 1Ghz processor”.

The TG01 was released in the June of 2009 with Windows Mobile 6.1 and later a Windows Mobile 6.5 update was released which did not show any improvement in sales or whatever. However, it was interesting to see a PocketPC from Tosh, that too with a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor along with a massive 4.1” TFT resistive touch screen.

Now the new comer or the second generation TG02 PocketPC has got a capacitive multi-touch screen (ready for upgrading to Windows Mobile 7?) and in a much slimmer form factor. Spec wise, the processor is still the same 1 Ghz beast. OS is still Windows Mobile 6.5 but maybe a 7 series upgrade will follow soon.

No words yet on the arrival or the price and we can hope it will come within six months from now as the TG01 was in the stores after half an year after their official announcements.
