The Samsung i900 Omnia (thats how its called) comprises of a Windows Mobile core and is slated to give the 3G iPhone (most likely to be unveiled today) and HTC Diamond a run for its money! But then, looks like the HTC Diamond would score yet again. Eventually, HTC TouchFLO 3D comes across as more flashy than Samsungs humble offerings. Spec-wise, the Samsung i900 Omnia is powered by the Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro with a 3.2 inch wide QVGA display along with an optical mouse (like the one in Samsung i780) thrown in. The experiment with the camera is indeed commendable. Imagine tossing in a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus snapper with face and smile detection along with the auto-pan shot! The built in GPS receiver is yet another onus making geo-tagging a part of camera functions. The Samsung i900 Omnia packs a neat punch with its sleek and elegant design. The brushed metal back contributes to the classy feel and theres no denying of the rather strong resemblance to the iPhone. The massive internal memory (again, similar to that of iPhone) is a whopping 8GB with the 16GB version with micro SD on the anvil. The quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, HSDPA 7.2Mbps along with the in-built accelerometer are some of the other features. Look deeper and youd find the FM radio with RDS, stereo Bluetooth and USB port too. The TouchWiz competes directly with the iPhones touch-optimization. This device is slated to hit the mobile fronts this month clashing again with the novel 3G iPhones release. Well, a war of the titans? Related Items:
