Virgin tries new marketing methods

Sunday, 30 March 2008

im a virginOkay, the picture here doen'st mean she's a virgin and wants you to call her. It's the new marketing made by Virgin Mobile since its recent launch in India. Already Airtel has taken most of the mobile market share in India and typically any new comer will have to face tough time against them, but not when someone says they pay you for using their connection.

Virgin says, they pay 10ps/minute for every incoming call you get. That is 10% of an outgoing charge. Ain't it cool? The only dis-advantage is, Airtel and other competitors have GSM networks and in India they don't really lock devices to carrier. But Virgin has launched their service together with Tata under CDMA networks. So you need to buy their own handset to get 10ps/minute of incoming calls. Their current device range is worst and stupidest.
