Although we didn’t see Garmin’ Nivifone at wide scale as HTC or other manufacturers, it is good see them providing Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM upgrades too.

We first heard about this Nuvifone from Garmin back in February and a few more details were leaked in the following couple of months later. Now that Microsoft has released Windows Mobile 6.5 officially to manufacturers, Garmin has taken it up and made it available for Nuvifone.

Right now Nuvifone customers living in Asian countries get an upgrade and a European and American version will follow pretty soon. They probably want to make sure everything goes fine with the new Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade by testing in Asian countries before bringing them to the wide European and American markets soon. Not sure but just a thought.
