Since the launch of TouchFLO 3D by HTC in their Touch Diamond family of PocketPC devices, we have seen rips, tips to free up TouchFLO 3D and also some hacks for TouchFLO 3D. Now we have another trick to delete the locked items in the All Programs menu.

All Programs menu is a dedicated Tab in Manilla 3D or TouchFLO 3D page. Although it is good to access your installed programs through this tab, some default programs are locked by HTC so you cannot remove them easily without this hack below.

All you need is the following registry edit:

HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/1
Change "IsReadOnly" from 1 to 0

Make sure you turn of TouchFLO 3D plug-in from the Start > Settings menu before performing this edit and re-enable after the modification. You can use the free PHM Registry Editor to make the above registry edits.

HTC’s Windows Mobile 7 Smartphone Touch Diamond3 which was named HTC Obsession previously will come only with AT & T and T- Mobile which means Verizon and Sprint are out of the Game and will be a GSM only phone, as the CDMA Diamond last year was sold so badly.

We don’t know if Microsoft is really working on Windows Mobile 7 as it gets delayed day after day but HTC is constantly developing their customizations to deliver a better user experience for Windows Mobile Pocket PC phones made by them.

It’s sure a well known fact that HTC has done a wonderful job with the TouchFLO 3D or Sense UI in their latest Pocket PC phones like the Touch HD2. Maxycy from xda has taken it to a new level in customizing every element of it.

If there was no HTC TouchFLO 3D, Windows Mobile 6.5 would have been thrown into the trash long ago. It was the heavy customizations done by HTC and other manufacturers over Windows Mobile that kept it alive, but Microsoft does not want the same to happen with Windows Mobile 7.

We have seen better task managing applications like Nested tasks to support addition of sub-tasks and so on. But here is a task manager that closely integrates with HTC Touch FLO for interface and Outlook for the task list.

Sure we have seen a lot of third party calculator applications that have better looks and could perform more intensive scientific calculations. But for those who just need the basic calculating functionalities but with a better UI or looks, HTC has made the customizations for ya.

TouchFLO 3D user interface was a revolutionary creation by HTC for Windows Mobile PocketPC phones and by developing it little by little through time, HTC has gone so far to the new HTC Sense UI that looks incredible but available only on their Android phones. Now, a new, next generation UI depicting a virtual diary or book is being created by HTC now.
