This is what happens when you’re left with more options. Think about Desktop OS, as a consumer your choices are very much limited to either Windows XP/Vista or Mac. Maybe even linux for some limited geeks. But in the case of Pocket PC, you have a new custom cooked ROM coming every other day. Which one do you think is the best?

If you have gone through a list of custom cooked ROMs for Touch HD, you probably know Dutty by now. His creations are always the best, so blindly you can take his latest ROM as the best.

But a recent benchmarks on popular custom ROMs for Touch HD has been made by Daeron (xda-dev member again) suggests Topix ROM beats Dutty’ ROMs, taking first place in performance wise.

So if you want more of a customized version, choose Dutty’ latest ROM. Else if you want some raw performance boost, choose Topix ROM especially the vanilla ones.

Fact is, choosing the best ROM is a matter of preferences. Taste of yours may vary from thousand others with the same device. Hence, before choosing a custom cooked ROM, forget the positive reviews people give on the ROM and instead, test them yourself personally. Probably have each of the ROM running in your device for atleast one day to analyze which one performs better and finally choose the best one for your taste.

But I’m pretty sure by the time you find the best ROM, a new cooked ROM emerges, hence the testing continues. You get addicted. In your quest in finding the best ROM, you lose most of your time which could well spent with one perfect ROM and that is probably the original ones shipped by HTC.

Last week we reported about a defective camera in the new Touch HD 2 Pocket PC phones and now HTC has provided a fix for the same.

It has become HTC’ legacy to not include proper video drivers for all the slick Pocket PC phones they release, probably because of licensing royalty payments but this greatly affects Windows Mobile OS as it doesn’t allow graphical transitions like iPhone.

The best Pocket PC to date is now facing some issues with a defective camera. Before HTC brings this to US markets, hope the camera gets a fix.

Windows Mobile does not support multi touch as of now, out of the box but manufacturers like HTC have already made it available with their own brewed APIs. Although they didn’t make the API available for public yet, hackers have found a way.

HTC Touch HD 2 is now available and according to a trusted source, the HTC Touch HD2 PocketPC will get an official Windows Mobile 7 upgrade once it’s released.

Sure we have seen a lot of third party calculator applications that have better looks and could perform more intensive scientific calculations. But for those who just need the basic calculating functionalities but with a better UI or looks, HTC has made the customizations for ya.
