Touch HD is simply the best device to date we would say for sure. An amazing screen with WVGA resolution along with TouchFLO 3D is the highlight to this beast. However, the history of poor graphics performance due to lack of proper drivers continues to TouchHD all the way from HTC Kaiser or the Att Tilt.

Folks over xda are real genius in ripping ROMs as well as developing free softwares and sometimes drivers too. With all the un-documented, undisclosed information obtained through reverse engineering secrets, they unlocked some secrets and tried developing better video drivers for the Qualcomm based MSM chipsets.They were quite successful in their goal for the Kaiser and for the Touch HD, they still provided quite a better driver that seemed to perform a little better driver which maybe a myth or psychological effects in performance improvements as it was never proved with proper benchmarks.

So what is it that made people want better graphics? Yes, the iPhone with its stunning graphics performance which no other device could beat till date. Finally, someone has pointed that the iPhone has a much lower screen resolution that the Touch HD, hence performing faster.

By reducing Touch HD’ resolutions, the test results did show some better improvements but no one would want a lower resolution and that made the development team hibernate their works after quoting their quest for better graphics driver continues.. 6 months passed and no updates yet.

So what do you think? Should HTC listen to all those old customers who complain the poor video performance issues or focus more on outer eye candy stuffs that helps them just market their new products, leaving the old ones stuck with rotten cakes?

One of the most successful and impressive Windows Mobile phone made by HTC is no-doubt the HD2 and as a follow up to its huge success, HTC has decided to manufacture a phone which is an exact miniature of the HD2 at an even lesser price tag.

It has become HTC’ legacy to not include proper video drivers for all the slick Pocket PC phones they release, probably because of licensing royalty payments but this greatly affects Windows Mobile OS as it doesn’t allow graphical transitions like iPhone.

The best Pocket PC to date is now facing some issues with a defective camera. Before HTC brings this to US markets, hope the camera gets a fix.

Windows Mobile does not support multi touch as of now, out of the box but manufacturers like HTC have already made it available with their own brewed APIs. Although they didn’t make the API available for public yet, hackers have found a way.

HTC Touch HD 2 is now available and according to a trusted source, the HTC Touch HD2 PocketPC will get an official Windows Mobile 7 upgrade once it’s released.

Sure we have seen a lot of third party calculator applications that have better looks and could perform more intensive scientific calculations. But for those who just need the basic calculating functionalities but with a better UI or looks, HTC has made the customizations for ya.

The long awaited PocketPC HTC Touch HD2 is finally available on sale in Europe and a few Asian countries. People in the US might have to wait a little more.
