It’s sure a well known fact that HTC has done a wonderful job with the TouchFLO 3D or Sense UI in their latest Pocket PC phones like the Touch HD2. Maxycy from xda has taken it to a new level in customizing every element of it.

By tweaking the Touch FLO 3D files and studying on the detailed working of it, Maxycy has made his own software customization or tweaks to provide an all in one customizable layout of the TouchFLO that better suits your taste and needs.

Max Manila offers a lot of features like the ability to change the large clock style with support for both analog and digital clocks all in different styles, weather on demand, change notification icons, enable full screen mode, transparent slider effect and a lot more. The best thing is, you get to choose all of the available options within the TouchFLO itself!

Works on both VGA as well as WVGA resolutions which means, it will work on every Pocket PC released by HTC after Touch Diamond with Touch FLO 3D and over VGA resolutions. The only need is Manila 2.5 (v2.5.19211619.0) which is already available in the newer phones and older Pocket PC phone users have this via un-official ROM upgrades.

Here are some of the detailed features:
Clock Styles: Choose between either Analog or Digital clock with a choice of 9 styles

Additional Shortcuts: Clicking on the top left corner quickly navigates to People screen, bottom left to Home Screen, Top right to show battery information and so on.

Full screen mode: By hiding the Start menu bar and the bottom taskbar, TouchFLO 3D or Manilla interface gets more room for you to have additional shortcut icons to your favorite programs. You can still access start menu by blind tapping at the top left corner.

Wallpapers: By HTC’ default setting, the chosen wallpaper is shown only in the Home tab. But you can now have the wallpaper shared in all of the tabs and additionally you get to use panoramic wallpapers that pan across when you move through the tabs.

Call History: Get the notification of missed calls and other important call history information right below the large clock on the home tab itself.

Remove Slider: You can now remove the slider button on the bottom bar that tells you which page you’re currently in just like the highlighted menu item in websites. Removing it gives a neat look to the TouchFLO but HTC has included it anyway. You can now have your own setting.

Activate Silent Mode: Automatically activate silent mode when you flip the phone facing down. HTC actually has this feature as to mute the ringer when you flip the phone when you get a call but now you can have this feature turned on permanently.

Automatic lock: When you flip your Pocket PC upside down, like when slipping inside your jeans pocket, the lock feature gets automatically activated. This is something HTC might also incorporate by default in their future Pocket PC phones which is very useful for many.

Apart from the above, you also have a whole lot of other features like the ability to hide TouchFLO and switch to Titanium home screen, notification icons with indicators, turn off weather animations to improve speed, select the number of shortcuts shown in the TouchFLO tabs and so on.

Max Manila is an amazing easy customization app which we recommend for every Pocket PC with Touch FLO 3D installed and having either VGA or WVGA resolutions. Due to the variation in Manilla builds, some people may not get all of the above features working but if you have the latest version, it is guaranteed that all of them work.
