Exactly, performing a ROM upgrade will erase everything from your pocket pc restoring it to factory condition. Sometimes a backup taken with third party softwares(we recommend SPB Backup) help in restoring the softwares. But note that the backup may not restore properly always after upgrading new ROMs especially if the new ROM has some modifications to the core modules of the OS. So its better to re-install every software and customize your settings all over again, after ROM upgrades. And this is the reason many never perform the upgrades as long as they are satisfied with their current ROM and also if the new ROM doesn't have significant added new features.<br /><br />Let us know your current ROM version and we may suggest if you could proceed upgrading.
